The Pilgrim Rest executive office will be closed on Monday, February 20th in observance of President’s Day.

Hat Day is February 19th. We encourage all ladies to wear their best church hat to service as we celebrate Black History Month.

The Jubilee Choir for children ages 3-17 will be rehearsing Wednesday evening at 6:30pm and Saturday at 10:00am. All children will be ministering in music on February 26th for a special Black History presentation. We invite all children and youth to come out and participate.

Roadmap to College will be on February 25th from 10:00am-12:00pm for 9th-12th graders. This workshop prepares students for college. Please visit the website for additional information and to register.

Calling all Pilgrim Rest Seniors… The Seniors Ministry will hold its first quarterly meeting of the year on Saturday, February 25th at 10:00am in the Word Center. All Senior’s are welcome as we share the calendar for the year, announcements of educational classes, the summer bus trip and much, much more. Who are considered Seniors?... All PRBC Members ages 55 and over. Once again, that’s Saturday, February 25th at 10:00am in the Word Center.

On Sunday, February 26th, Dr. Jawanza Kunjufu will be speaking at all three services. Dr Kunjufu has dedicated himself to the uplifting of our community and has personally written over 20 books dealing with critical concerns in the area of raising our children, particularly the black male child, an economic solution for the black community and spiritual motivation.

Pilgrim Rest is an IRS VITA site offering FREE tax help to people who generally make $50,000 or less and need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. IRS-certified volunteers provide free basic income tax return preparation to qualified individuals in local communities. The program will take place every Saturday until April 14th from 9am-1pm on a first come, first serve basis – no appointments will be made. There are numerous items you need to bring with you in order to have your tax returns prepared; please visit the Hospitality Table for a list of these items.

Children’s Ministry is upgrading their check-in system beginning the first Sunday in March. Key tags will be made available for easy and efficient check in. Parents must go online to www.kidcheck.com for registration. Please see your bulletin for further details.

Maricopa Integrated Health Systems and the Wellness Ministry present “Many Women, One Voice – Raising Awareness of the Impact of HIV/AIDS on Women and Girls.” Guest speakers will include Dr. Crista Johnson, Director of the Refugee Women’s Health Clinic and Carol Williams, Director of the McDowell Women’s HIV Clinic. The event will take place on Saturday, March 10th from 10:30am-1:00pm in the Gymnasium. There will be onsite HIV testing.

Full Gospel Western Pacific Regional Summit – April 18, 19 and 20th in Pasadena, CA. Members from the churches in Arizona will be traveling to Pasadena for the Friday evening service returning on Saturday morning.

Sunday School Ministry - The Sunday School Ministry offers classes for the entire family. We welcome you and your family to come and learn who God really is. All Sunday School classes are held in the Word Center with the exception of the Traditional Adult class which is held in the sanctuary. In the Word Center, classes for Pre K – 2nd grade are on the 1st floor. 3rd – 8th grade are on the 2nd floor. High School 9 – 12th grade, Young Adults and our new class, “Books of the Bible” are all on the 3rd Floor. Sunday School starts from 9:15am to 10:30am. Come taste and see that the Word is good!

Iron Men Network - This is a reminder that you can now register your young man for the 2012 IRON MEN Network. The focus in 2012 will be revaluing education through reading, career planning and of course learning how to become a productive man. The IRON MEN coaches and volunteers will meet you in the vestibule following service to answer questions and to pass out the 2012 calendar of meetings. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER NOW
